SYMBIOSIS—

The twelve of us that make up the 2016/2017 cohort met at the beginning of fall and were immediately tasked with producing two quarter-long projects; a website and a book. Both designed to represent ourselves and the program. We spent several weeks discussing what the previous year’s BFA cohorts had done, what we had to offer this year, and what theme would unite our ideas across platforms.

Our attempt at finding a message has been the idea of Symbiosis. All twelve of us are extremely grateful to have been given the chance to work with the faculty, local firms, and each other in this program. We had many conversations about who specifically we’re catering our publications to.

The answer we returned to time and again was that our audience felt circular, and deeply interconnected. Our mentors, our professors, our parents, our upperclassmen, and underclassmen all partnered with each other and invested in our abilities; taking us to our senior year. As we prepare to graduate and enter the workforce, we wanted to create things that in some way acknowledge the co-dependant and symbiotic nature of our academic experiences. We hope that with this website and with Intern Stories (coming soon!) we have showcased ourselves in a way that responds directly to those who put us here.

We just wanted to say thank you—

Thank you to all our professors who have guided us through these past couple of years, and thank you for your patience and time. Thank you to all our parents who supported us through sleepless weeks and hungry nights. Thanks to all of our friends who understood when we were too busy or too tired, or maybe even a little too cranky. Thank you to our mentors who started our professional careers over the summer, and trusted us with our abilities.

Without you, we wouldn’t be here.

Your Questions, Answered.

Hello!

Welcome to our little section of the internet. We’ve created a space for you to see a bit of what's inside our studio and to explain what the BFA is all about. So take a second, have a look around and have fun.

Heres the Deal...

This site isn't responsive yet. It's not for lack of trying, but sometimes those dang media queries don't cooperate. We're actively working out some kinks and restructuring our content. In the meantime our desktop site is fully functional and just waiting to be played with.

You have every right to be frustrated. Please feel free to complain either by email or by phone.
